I will be a part of this year’s Red Dress Gala in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation! The event is taking place this Saturday, April 20, at Liberty North in Barrie. Tickets are $60 or two for $100. The night features a Sandra Roberts Fashion Show “Once Upon a Time”, silent auction, heart healthy dessert auction, photo booth and so much more!

The Heart and Stroke Foundation, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through: the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living and advocacy. This is incorporated into my platform which is promoting fitness and healthy active living.

The Red Dress is the official symbol of The Heart Truth campaign. “It’s feminine, strong and confident, capturing the spirit of the cause in a symbol that women across Canada can identify with and feel proud of. The Red Dress represents women’s courage and passion and their power for change as they share the truth with others and raise awareness about the importance of heart health.” as posted on the Red Dress Gala Barrie Facebook page.

I met Sandra Roberts through a mutual friend and arranged a meeting at her fabulous Imago boutique in Barrie. She asked me to be a part of the fashion show and (of course) I agreed. Here is some information about Sandra which I found at http://www.ecofestbarrie.ca/includes/Enviro.php.

“Sandra Roberts is the CEO and creative visionary who started PIE Magazine, Imago Zine, Pie Media Group and now Pie Face kids Bookazine. With over nine years of experience in publishing, building teams and styling, Roberts had an interest in offering an affordable luxury lifestyle publication that attracts advertisers and creates a medium to be seen in print and online to Barrie and on a national brand scale. Her talent and knack for developing outstanding teams has led to PIE Magazine being a Canada-wide publication.”

She is so accomplished and seems to have fun with everything she does, I really enjoy working with her and I know others do as well. The fashion show has a fairy tale theme incorporating Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping beauty. With both male and female models, of all ages, this is sure to be a great event!
